What is beautybound?
We noticed that most of the bondage on the web these days is pretty bad and the photography is no better. Furthermore, most of it was shot in someone's living room, a hotel room, someone's bedroom, or in the photo studio. Anyone of these is cool sometimes, but after about the third time it all starts looking the same. We decided to do it different. We go to fun funky locations with really gorgeous bondage models in fetish wear and Midori turns it all into art. Beautiful bondage isn't easy (unless you're Midori) and turning a location into our photo studio is really hard work. But it's also lots of fun for us, and we hope that shows in the photos. Sure, the other site may give you 100,000 photos, but you don't have to go far into their hard drives to realize it all looks pretty much the same. Between the work of Midori and Michael Blue, and the other bondage art in our guest galleries, you're not going to get bored this year. Sexy. Tight. Luscious.

Who is Midori? What's a fetishdiva?
You don't get out very often do you? Just kidding! The name Midori is well-known in the worlds of SM and fetish, first as a model, then domina, and finally the highly respected author/educator/artist she is today. She wrote a book called "The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage" which may very well have been the first book on Japanese bondage in English. She writes erotic fiction for books and magazines, and her instructional texts have even found their way into college textbooks. She teaches around the world at universities, stores, private tutorials, and SM educational organizations. She's appeared on TV on HBO's Real Sex (2x) and Sex Bytes (6x), Playboy TV (2x), Canada's Sex TV, Germany's Peep, and many more. She's appeared in magazines that include Skin Two (UK), Ritual (UK), Secret (Belgium), Marquis (Germany), Sniper (Japan), Spectator (San Francisco), Mademoiselle (US), Sojourner (US), Playboy (US and abroad), Taboo (US), Glamour, San Francisco Chronicle, Village Voice (New York) and other publications.

In 2002 she began styling rope bondage for fashion shoots for photographic legends like Nick Knight (British Vogue), and Tizianno Magni (East/West and Surface magazines). She has also collaborated with photographers Eric Kroll, Steve Diet Goedde, Craig Morey, James and James, Michelle Serchuk. Stay tuned for other big names currently in the works.

You say there's all this free stuff, but you want me to join. What's the catch?
The Beauty Board is our free online forum where you can read messages from the models, riggers, photographers, and people just like yourself who share and interest in hot bondage. You'll learn about upcoming events in the fetish, SM, and sex worlds, it's and you can read and post messages for others looking for kinky new play partners. Ask how-to questions of the people who made each shoot happen, or just tell them how a certain image may have touched your life. In our contributors section we'll take you behind the scenes of each photo shoot. Learn how the model felt as Midori's rope ran across her skin, hugging her body tighter with every turn. Glimpse some of the devious thoughts that entered the creative firestorm that is Midori's mind. Get a peek at how the photographer balances the technical issues with the intensity of the awesome beauty unfolding in front of his camera. Basically, it's all free except for the pictures.

So what do I get if I join ?
You'll see the beauty of Rosaleen's delicate curves as warm amber light floats across one side of her body while cool blue luminance bites at her other side. Witness Dmii Darkangel's magnificent, tightly muscled form in impossible positions for the tight embrace of Midori's rope. You'll view dozens of other sets of the highest quality photography of luscious women turned into expressions of the most creative, beautiful, bondage art this side of Japan.

We point our cameras in many directions when we create a shoot for you. You'll not only see the end product of our shoots but you'll also get a look at life behind the scenes. As so many of our shoots take place on location, they require a team of people dedicated to a common goal. Perhaps you've chatted with them on the Beauty Boards or read a few of their posts. The BTS will not only help you put a face to them, but will also show you a bit more of what each of us contributes.

Finally, in our Guest Gallery you'll see the work of other artists whose work we liked and wanted to share with you. There's a very exclusive list of photographers and bondage riggers, working with their own models to make art that shares a similar aesthetic with ours.

Miscellaneous
I'd love to model for you...
First, you've got to be a woman (sorry men!) who loves bondage and has at least some experience with it. Modeling experience helps, but is not necessary. A fetish wardrobe filled with fabulous latex and leather clothing also helps. Second, you need to be attractive, physically fit and height/weight proportional. As it's Midori's site, we'll confess to a slight preference for what we here in America call "People of Color." Asian Pacific Islanders, Black, Middle Eastern, American Indian, Latina, etc., and particularly those of mixed ethnic heritage are encouraged to contact us. Third, you need to be able to get yourself to our cameras. We're currently based in San Francisco and are entertaining thoughts of visiting Los Angeles, Portland, New York, Las Vegas, and Fort Lauderdale, to shoot. If you meet with these three requirements and would like to model for us, please send e-mail to models@beautybound.com with your vitals and a few recent pictures. The photos should include at least one that shows your figure and another that shows your face. Must be above age 18 and be able to prove it.

I'd like to use your photos for a painting (collage, mug, screenprinted trivet, etc) I'm working on.
We're flattered, but to date the only way you can own these images is via our web page or by purchasing prints from us. We currently have a show of 31 archivally prepared prints in 16x20 frames making it's way through the country and these images can be purchased at the venues where they are on display. We sometimes sell smaller prints at shows like Bondcon, and can be talked into printing any image you find on this site for a fee. Email us for details.

Where can I learn more about bondage and other sexy fun?
Midori has a list of over 50 classes that she presents internationally.you can learn more about her teaching at Fire Horse Productions website, and she has a calendar that details which classes she's teaching and where she'll be next.
